Well, there is an example on how the lo0-Interface is configured. Kay
(former Maintainer) did never bother to add example rc-files, perhabs
because every distribution has a different startup. For e.g. KGMD
uses rc.net for configuring network-Interfaces, other Distributions
could use other places.
I managed to set up my first riebl-card without much documentation
some years ago and that time I didn't know very much about TCP/IP.
I simply used the man-pages and the lo0-Example.

You provided an example-file, and I'm sure in the next major MiNTnet-Release
it will be integrated. I think you can't complain about nobody beeing of
help for you.
Remember that the last update was mainly a bug-fix, not a real new release,
so Torsten did not change the contents of the package.

When I said I would prefer a more standard-case, I did only discuss your
work as every work is discussed here including mine and for e.g. Frank's
Kernel-hacking.

I think the programmers sometimes forget about the docu. But on the
other hand, there are some people on this list that try to provide
proper documentation (like Kellis did with her KEMD-Patches), so
I think we should not complain about missing docu but work on improving
it...
