Mhmm, I'd rather suggest a specific start program that uses shel_write() to execute the GEM application, because this way, it will get a correct result on calling shel_read(), which might be the problem in CAB's case. Or, use a start program than sends the corresponding AV_STARTPROG to the AV-server. IIRC, kellis has already done that.
