Actually, PPPoE is defined in RFC2516
(http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2516.html), and the authors have nothing to
do with Microsoft, but with UUNET, RedBack and RouterWare. Thus, if
Microsoft really invented it, they were very good in hiding it in the
specs ;)
