Thanks for this information.But once again, my original question was simply: "Are block devices available to the end user, as block files, like in Linux". FreeMiNT may internally use its low level routines or wrap the BIOS, I don't care.

Oh, that's interesting.I have just committed my alpha Falcon IDE driver into EmuTOS. This is a critical software component for the FireBee. Some IDE stuff is still mysterious for me, feel free to share your expertise on the EmuTOS mailing list.
