The tar source package uses that feature. Fortunately it can be disabled by doing "make AM_DEFAULT_VERBOSITY=1".Personally I love to see the full command line for each file, to check compiler CPU options, etc. so I always make tar with the option above, and I will do the same for the MiNTLib.
