A side effect is that most mail user agents on Windows save text/plain attachments with CR/LF line endings. So if you get my patches on Windows, they appear to have CR/LF line endings, while the original files had not.
That explains it. I guess gcc would choke on crnl-files quite soon. -- Helmut Karlowski
