GCC cross-compiler... success!
Yes! I've successfully built gcc 2.5.8 as a cross-compiler on the local
NCR System 3000 multiprocessor box, using the gcc 2.5.8 source from
prep.ai.mit.ed, and bammi's patches (in gcc258s.zoo on atari.archive).
It runs, and it appears to produce the right assembler output! This is
going to make my ST much more usable until I can replace it... No more
waiting for 8 hours while it builds NetHack! :-)
Now, what exactly do I need to complete this cross-compiler? I know I need
to build at least GAS and GNU ld, but where do I start? bammi's patches
for gcc 2.5.8 were very easy to apply, and the build was also easy using
the Sun Makefile.cross.
Thanks!
