MintNet 0.30 and friends
I have uploaded the following files to atari.archive.umich.edu:/atari/New/:
net-030.tgz, inetd-01.tgz, sinetd-00.tgz, portlib-02.tgz, rpc-01.tgz,
tftp-00.tgz, tftpd-00.tgz, udpprobe.tgz.
They replace the following files in the atari/Mint/Network/ directory:
net-022.tgz, net-util.tgz.
Jeff, please put the new files into Mint/Network. Thanks a lot!
Here is a short description of what is in the archives. If you want,
put them into an index file in Mint/Network/.
--
net-030.tgz:
Version 0.3 of MintNet -- a networking extension for Mint (using BSD
sockets). This version supports the Unix and Internet domains.
UDP/IP/ICMP/SLIP/PLIP work (tested). Contains a rather complete inet
library and ifconfig, netstat, route utilities.
inetd-01.tgz:
Patchlevel 1 of the Internet Super Server ported to Mint+MintNet.
Contains a patch for Mint 1.10, concerning Fselect().
sinetd-00.tgz:
Patchlevel 0 of a simple (one server only) inetd replacement for Mint+MintNet.
You don't need it if you use inetd from inetd-01.tgz.
portlib-02.tgz:
Patchelvel 2 of a small library useful when porting Unix (especially BSD)
software. Contains BSD sigvec stuff, a fork() emulation that works for
`if (fork()) exit();' and some things more.
rpc-01.tgz:
Patchlevel 1 of Sun RPC 4.0 (Remote Procedure Calling Library and Utilities)
ported to Mint+MintNet. Includes portmap, rpcinfo, rstat, rstatd, rpcgen,
some examples and the complete RPC library.
tftp-00.tgz:
Patchlevel 0 of the tftp (trivial file transfer program) client program
ported to Mint+MintNet.
tftpd-00.tgz:
Patchlevel 0 of the tftp server program ported to Mint+MintNet.
udpprobe.tgz:
Utility program for testing connectivity in IP Networks. Somewhat similar
in functionality to ping, but uses UDP datagrams.

BTW: Sorry to those which are still waiting for answers to the
mails sent to me, I was absent for some weeks. I will answer them
soonest ...
Have some fun and don't forget to report any problems/bugs...
If you get a chance to connect your MintNet-Atari to Suns, HPs
or whatever Unix system running IP software, please drop me a note
how it works...
Cheers, Kay.
