GCC 2.5.8 and MiNTnet-080

Hi,
I have 2 major problems with mint
FIRST PROBLEM
what do the -mbaserel option on GCC2.5.8

SECOND PROBLEM
When I start Mint ,sockdev.xdd writes
Loading Interfaces :

But nothing happened. So sockdev.xdd cant load the *.xif files.
My sockdev.xdd and my drivers (slip.xif ,oslip.xif) is in the same folder:
u:/mint. So what can I do. Is there someone that have mintnet working correctly.
