Terminal troubles on serial port
Hi there!
I connected a vt100 compatible terminal to my ST via the serial port. However,
when I type process control characters like ^C or ^Z they are ignored by the
shells (ash, ksh, tcsh). Strangely, the ^Y character (delayed suspend) has the
effect the ^Z character is supposed to have, i.e. it causes the current
process to stop. When quoting the control characters in vi with ^V, they are
displayed so they must have been transmitted to the computer.
This is the /etc/ttytab entry:
ttya "/usr/sbin/getty vt100.9600" vt100 on remote secure
And here's the corresponding /etc/gettytab entyry:
V|vt100.9600:\
:sp#9600:ms=hupcl,isig,clocal:nl:im=:\
:hn=mounty:lm=\r\n%h console login\72 :
The stty -a command produces this output:
speed 9600 baud; rows 0; columns 0;
intr = ^C; quit = ^U; erase = ^?; kill = ^U; eof = ^D; eol = M-^?; start = ^Q;
stop = ^S; susp = ^Z; werase = ^W; lnext = ^V; min = 1; time = 0;
-parenb -parodd cs8 -hupcl -cstopb cread clocal
ignbrk -brkint ignpar -parmrk -inpck -istrip -inlcr -igncr icrnl -ixon -ixoff
opost
isig icanon iexten echo echoe echok -echonl -noflsh -tostop
Is this behavior a bug in the kernel or did I miss something in my
configuration files?
Tschuess
