I very much doubt that.
There is after all a TT-SCSI DMA controller in there.  ;-)
That Atari chose to busy wait on it to complete is quite another matter.

AFAICR, the TT is even able to use SCSI DMA into TT-RAM, but I might be
mistaken about that.
