8 bit transfer encoding

I'm having troubles to make Pine send only 8 bit characters (*not* QP) in text. 
Is there any way to force or fool Pine think that localhost (or any other) can 
do esmtp negotiating when sending mail. I know that if my providers smpt server 
can do it and SMTP server is set in Pine config file , message is sent as I 
want to (8bit).
