You can do a simple test:

click on the link, if you end up getting garbage in the browser, it
usally means the MIME-types isn't configured on the server side.

If you get teh standard dialog form netscape telling you it doesn't know
what aplication to run, it means the MIME-types isn't configured on your
computer.

LYNX has the excelent feture that it tells you which MIME type the
server thinks the file corresponds to. (And usally lynx saves a binary
file correct too )
