I remember a problem I had with that variable:  I had set it do
"D:\clipbrd" in n_aes.cnf and most applications used it.  Only ST-Guide
still read/wrote "c:\clipbrd".

BTW:  In another mail I said that ST-Guide wouldn't load if N.AES is
started from a console login as an ordinary user.  Uhm, my fault, my boot
loader had disabled the accessory. ;-)
