[MiNT] Problems with pppd

The last few days I've had problems with my ISP, their lines are busy all
the time. So naturally I sit there, running pppd perhaps 100 times before I
finally connect... The problem is that if I do this too many times, MiNT
will crash. Usually everything just freeze, but sometimes I get some gurba
on the screen as well. Enabling memory-protection does not make a
difference.

It looks to me as if there's a memory-leak of some kind either in the kernel
(1.15.1-1.4) or pppd (can't remember which version, I got it from Petr
Stehlik's homepage), but I'm unable to track it down.
