Hmm, But how do you know for. eg. which interface is meant when
you are using simply eth0, eth1, eth2,...
For e.g. On my tt there is a pams-VME-Card and (from time to
time) a pams-dma-Ethernet-node.
With eth0 and eth1 I would have some difficulties to know
which ethx is which hardware-Interface, but with ple0 and
dma0 I can see that simply by the name of the interface.
Besides that this is very useful for each kind of admintool,
because you can determine the type and the requirements of
the interface out of its name (for e.g. setting of hw-adress).
