I don't know what kind of ISDN you mean but the one I have at home uses 
PPP as normal modem. The ISDN box is connected to serial port not to the 
ethernet. I haven't heard of boxes that use ethernet for connection but 
that's just me. There's one which uses USB but I don't know anything else 
about it.
