The KGMD ps is a bad joke. And yours is not an option because you refuse
to publish the sources and at least Sparemint will not rely on any
proprietary software.  Call that a political decision if you like, but it
is a decision of the people that have invented the Sparemint project and
that happen to be the same guys that actively develop FreeMiNT.

As a consequence, we need a new ps and the procps package for Linux
is probably not the worst.  But it needs the functionality of the
Linux /proc pseudo filesystem.  Instead of writing a new ps from the
scratch and hack on the kernel procfs.c I can just as well write a clean
kernel api that offers all functionality we need.
