I have an Afterburner, and I can't say that I've noticed any slowdown with
memoryprotection. My TT loads programs a bit slower, but not nearly as slow
as in Mario's case (1 second). I have not tried memory-protection since
1.15.1 though, and I've never used MAXMEM or INITIALMEM.
