I think it can be easily solved (i.e. the direct manipulation of the rtc)
by supplying a device (/dev/rtc for example). I made such a device, but
after some conversation with Frank and with myself I decided that the
device is designed incorrectly. I will rewrite the driver if someone will
advice me on standards at this point, if any.
