I don't know what both of you do with that poor Jinnee, neither do I know which
version of Jinnee hou have, but everything works on my Hades 060 with MiNT
1.15.12, N.AES 1 and Jinnee 1. I have beautiful 256-color icons in 32K-color
resolutions.

I tried Jinnee 2.5 but I didn't manage to get the icons right, so I kept Jinnee
1... until I'll try harder to find some trick for those icons.

My setup:

$HOME/defaults/
$HOME/defaults/desx_256.jic
$HOME/defaults/jinnee.inf

C:/n_aes/jinnee/
C:/n_aes/jinnee/desx_256.inf
C:/n_aes/jinnee/desx_256.jic
C:/n_aes/jinnee/desx_256.rsc
C:/n_aes/jinnee/jinnee.inf

"desx_256.jic" and "jinnee.inf" are at 2 different places but they are the same.
I don't think that any "jinnee.inf" is necessary in Jinnee's folder but to have
a copy of the ".jic" file in it helps when nothing else works.

My last trick: Avoid like the plague any icon-related tool that comes with
Jinnee. I don't know if it's because of the 060 of my Hades but I got only
troubles with the ones that came with Jinnee 1. Especially that hateful
"inf2jic.gtp"! I fought a lot of times against it... until I wrote my own
replacement tool.

Now, when I want to change an icon, I edit directly the RSC and/or the INF file
that is related to it, I launch "jic_max" in a console and I reboot when it's
done. That's a real pain to have to reboot because Jinnee doesn't like to be
restarted but I always plan my icon changes... and I feel very happy when I see
that "jic_max" created _all_ the mini-icons for me. (Only for graphics cards!
Falcon owners, go away!) ;-) Anyway, I haven't seen the question marks for a
very long time.

I don't known if it will help you but that's the way Jinnee works for me... and
I like telling stories. ;-)

I've always wondered what you can do with _this_ amount of memory... Just trying
to have the biggest Hades? ;-)

See ya,
