[MiNT] e2fsck problem

when I try running e2fsck manually with a command like

	e2fsck G:

I'm always getting this error message

	e2fsck: Permission denied while trying to open G:
	You must have r/w access to the filesystem or be root

I DID log in as root, but still can't run e2fsck (or fsck.ext2) this way.
Only with the -n option it works. With any other or no option I'm getting
the above message. Am I doing something wrong ?
