I see, so we can't run GCC 4 on Mint just yet ?
I had a quick look at the release notes for some of the versions
between 3 and 4 and there are hundreds of changes. Hardly surprising
since 2.95.3 dates from March 2001
A few weeks ago I suggested a SpareMint packaging Blitz to
see if we can get people updating as many packages as possible.
With a new GCC I guess some things will be updated anyway.
