This is one of those things I have been thinking about, like GRUB, but
also with the background image and variable console font (for obvious
reasons).. in the meantime I have developed a couple of bash scripts
for AFROS-update that allow multiple MiNT and EmuTOS to be installed,
and changed from within the Atari, by using a single generic file name
for each, and text files to allow easy recognition of versions and
folder origins

BTW I use similar principle in reverse to allow mint.cnf, xaaes.cnf
creation for 1.16 AND 1.17 from the same set of generic settings (text
files), and (soon) one for XaAES AND MyAES config generation from the
same generic settings (also text files)

I believe adding script file processing to the current EmuTOS and MiNT
consoles would help with this process, and any future APP could also
use the "generic settings"

A customizable boot loader for MiNT/EmuTOS would be prerequisite for
and modern Atari OS (ACP/Coldari), but it would be fine if it were a
seperate app, especially if it could handle the shutdown and reboot
process, it would make using it a lot cleaner
