remember well, there is a lot of manually written assembler routines in Quake, it would be tricky to patch for ColdFire. Fortunately, that would be only required for optimal speed.
You do remember well, altough it's not a requirement, there's C version for all functions by default. But since ID Software did make asm routines / optimizations even when targetted on Pentium@100 MHz, I'd guess the speed on CF wont by anything excellent without asm optimizations...
