key board shortcuts are ok for them that use them
but that is not a good enough reason to exclude use of config

if you are to support theme better, then this in particular should be
a config setting

as for too many config vars, thats only if you want to change every
single one (or write the docs for them), there is a usable config
floating around that contains only those setting that need to be
changed, and without comments, which makes it about a 1/5th of the
size, while still remaining understandable.. and that is without the
use of includes, which would allow even more config settings to be
condensed to one line (ie. include theme.cnf)
