Just to be clear, fstab is completely unrelated to MiNT (it's not part of a
FreeMiNT release).

Wouldn't removing the line mentioning the drive in question achieve the same
thing? The MiNT kernel has absolutely no use for the fstab file so it would
still mount the drive but the drive would not be checked at boot.
