Maybe the big logo is 8bit, the taskmanager 4bit, don't know that now.With palette=gem and icn_pal_name=nvdi I get the first (smaller) shot with my current XaAES which differs from trunk. But with palette=nvdi you should get the same. There are some bugs in the remap so it might give unexpected behaviour. Will be fixed soon. It also displays right with 4bit-video under EmuTOS (second shot, with palette=nvdi - the gem-palette does not have the needed colours in the first 16 places). In the 4-colour-mode (2bit) the icons will have 1 bit.
I don't know where the white border comes from, it does not appear in 32bit.
