Why not, seems like a good idea.
I see the machine subdirectory as a specialists feature. As long as it's
not mandatory I don't see a problem with it. If you're using it, you'll
know what you're doing.
That's exactly as I see it -- it shouldn't be something new to learn, just a handy feature.
