It might be a good idee to see which x,y,w,h one gets from
wind_get(handle, WF_WORKXYWH, ...).

I remember XaAES itself uses internally the toolbar mechanism for some 
of his own dialogue windows where the toolbar is the only content of the
workarea.

In such cases wind_get might yield zeroes for w and h when the toolbar
functions outside the workarea. When the toolbar is part of the work 
area such a wind_get would yield the same values as for the case were a 
toolbar is not attached.
