Because this is how it has been agreed on: if logging is enabled, you don't get to see console output on screen (it's redirected to the console window, if open and the log file, which can be /dev/null for instance). If it's disabled, you see console output on screen (unless the console window is open).

Oops, I had selected only "open console at start and open console at at output" but not "Log console output". With "log console output" I no longer have stuff printed on the screen, and don't need to open the console :-)
