You definitely should include "/" in your UNIXMODE environment variable.
The kernel *never* translates / into \ (since this would break some
existing Atari programs) and so this translation must be handled in the
libraries. The default UNIXMODE setting for the MiNT libraries is in fact
just "/" alone.
