Well Atari does at least. This is one of the reasons I keep clear of the
kernel. I'm not in a position to work for Atari free of charge, so  lots
of improvements I could make make wont appear.

This can of course be contrasted with e.g. IBM where just beta testing
software has a fee associated with it.
