I've looked at that before and while I agree that a port of GGI to
Atari TOS/MiNT/MagiC might be useful, it has little to do with fVDI itself.

GGI is at about the same level as the fVDI device drivers. That is, it's
concerned with setting up graphics modes and accelerating low level
primitives.
That is not to say that you couldn't implement GGI on top of the VDI.

Apart from possibly making it easier to port Atari programs to a GGI
environment (there would still be the 'small' matter of the AES to worry
about), I don't really see much point in that.
The VDI certainly isn't the best graphics library ever invented.

Anyway, I think it would be much better to build a VDI library for X
than for GGI.
