Re: [MiNT] Security again

Hi Konrad M. Kokoszkiewicz, on 10 Nov 99 you said:

 KMK> BigDOS with MiNT?!

I know already 2 reasons to have BigDOS with MiNT:

1/ To be able to read DOS/Windows disks/cartridges. That's the only way I use
transfer files in between my wintel box and my Hades.

2/ To be able to overcome the 512 Mo limit on TOS partitions with a TOS older
than v4.xx. That's the way it is on Hades with its TOS 3.06.

I have all XFS drivers available for MiNT but I can achieve none of the two
above-mentioned without BigDOS.

And I'll add a number 3 (I can see the icon for drive O: on the right of the
window):

3/ To overcome the 14 partitions limit (only C: to P:). My hard disk and my
backup hard disk were both splitted in 7... To which I add 2 MINIX partitions
on another hard disk... and my EZ-135 and my ZIP-100 ...and the partition U:
...and the partition R: for the CD-ROM. (That's all!) Here we are: 20
partitions up to V:! I've changed this but I haven't succeeded yet to go below
O:+R:+U: ...and I should better not think about adding my TT hard disk (7 more
partitions) without BigDOS. ;-)

See you later,
