[MiNT] init step by step

Hi,

I'm having a problem with the "init step by step" switch in the mint boot 
menu. The other options in the menu seem to work fine, but if I try to 
toggle "init step by step" on or off it doesn't work. And after I have 
tried this and continue the bootprocess strange things start happening: I 
can't type my loginname and password in the login. The screen just scrolls 
when I try to enter anything. I'm experiencing this on my Aranym box, I 
haven't tried on my Falcon yet.
