It doesn't. But it does not have to, the only functions that read from a 
harddisk are those that try to read the rootsector, and those are reading to 
the TOS internal diskbuffer. All other functions only read from the floppy, 
and that transfer is done using DMA, so the processor does not access the 
buffer. All other places (reading sectors for media change detection etc) also 
read to internal buffers, there is no user supplied buffer parameter involved. 
So the question should rather be: how does AHDI deal with it.
