Any more XaAES or OaSiS Dev.?
Hi,
I am basically writing to congradulate the continued efforts being done with
MiNT. Guys like Draco, Jo, Petr, and Katherine have continued to expand the
capabilities of MiNT. It is funny that so many have deserted supporting MiNT.
Now that MiNT is basically the only free 68k OS that has support for Unix and
GEM, being able to use it on the latest generation of TOS clones gives it more
of a reason to continue its support. Besides this, since Apple has moved away
from support of 68030, 040 Macs, and free Unix type OS' have been slow in
coming for these Macs, it probably would be a nice idea to combine efforts
between MiNT for TOS and MacMiNT to make MiNT the kernal for GEM and X-Windows
to run on 68k Macs and TOS machines (at least until Fenix becomes available).
Another thing that would be very nice, is if GNUSTep could be added to the
list of systems that can be run ontop of MiNT. This would be good for Falcon
users since the NeXT and the Falcon both contain 56001 DSP. (BTW, can a 21"
NeXT Color MegaPixel display be made to work with the Falcon?). GNUSTep's
vertical menus would make the OS more display independant, since you can use
these menu on a TV display as well.
