Yes, you can do large batches. I created a file over 1.7 meg long.
that is a little unmanageble though, so I gassed it. Haven't had time 
to play since. It looked pretty with a little configuration, I think it
would be fine.

I forgot about the BSD html pages.
Look at http://www.bsdi.com/bsdi-man/
gives some insite into their pages. Even I can use them.
