MiNT LIST FAQ
-------------

1.0 PURPOSE

The MiNT list's purpose is to regroup developers to facilitate all
discussions regarding MiNT's evolution towards a self-contained OS.

2.0 TOPICS

2.1 What discussion topics are suitable?

Generally, anything related to MiNT is suitable, such as:

Bug reports, new programs and/or new ports announcements, kernel
development, MiNTnet improvement, multitasking AES compatibility
(Geneva, MultiTOS, N.AES, oAESis, XaAES), POSIX compliance, etc.

2.2 What discussion topics are unsuitable?

"KGMD won't install on my system!!!" (comp.sys.atari.st newsgroup
is where to ask for help), Magic versus MiNT advocacy (discuss it
      on comp.sys.atari.advocacy instead).

      PERSONAL ATTACKS ARE DEFINITELY UNACCEPTABLE.

Armageddon won't arise as the result of changes in the kernel, so
there is no need to panic if something evolves in a direction you
don't like. Hack the sources to your own tastes, recompile, then
share your patch on the list, so others can benefit from it.

3.0 POSTING

  3.1 Address

Messages for the MiNT LIST should be sent to <mint@fishpool.com>.

  3.2 Netiquette

Remember that MiNT development is first and foremost a hobby and
people value their spare time, so remain as brief and concise as
      possible in your messages.

Also, don't forget to update the Subject: line if the topic veers
towards something different from the initial message.

  3.2 Umich list

It should be noted that posting to the Umich list is valid, but
not necessary, since mail sent there is forwarded to this list,
so sending cc: mails to the other address should be avoided, as
      it is uselessly redundant.

You do not need to subscribe to the new list, as the subscribers
list from Umich has been duplicated here.

5.0 SUBSCRIBTION

First of all, a very important concept you will _HAVE_ to remember:

*** DO NOT SEND (UN)SUBSCRIBTION REQUESTS TO THE LIST'S ADDRESS! ***

  5.1 How to subscribe

E-mail to <majordomo@fishpool.com> with the following content:

      subscribe mint username@your.provider

Obviously, "username@your.provider" should be replaced by your
      own e-mail address...

  5.2 How to unsubscribe

E-mail to <majordomo@fishpool.com> with the following content:

      unsubscribe mint username@your.provider

"username@your.provider" should be the E-MAIL ADDRESS PROVIDED
WHEN YOU SUBSCRIBED, not the current one on your new provider!
