7.54. My system seems to be frozen. The problem always appears after changing
the zip media and sometimes during booting.

But the system does not hang up! After 2-3 minutes ls is responding and
everything is working fine again. I really don't know the reason for this
behavior. I have the impression that it comes from hddriver.

So maybe you should wait a little bit longer before rebooting...
