Works fine here, although it doesn't feel very stable. I don't know exactly

Have you tried disabling the XFS/XDD-modules? IIRC these are loaded right
after the NEWFATFS-message is displayed. Perhaps you've forgotten to remove
the ramdisc-XFS and it conflicts with the internal ramdisc (just a wild
guess)?
