Looks like you use an totally outdated bash that is linked against an
very old mintlib with strong path limits.

MinixFS partitions have a fixed size directory layout. On MinixFS creation
you must specify the maximum name length (every name then allocate the
maximum namelen). This is a design issue of MinixFS.
