Whatever. But without SPIN there is no nameless device anymore, and the
console items from TosWin2's menu are selectable again ...
I'll check xconout.xdd, maybe I still have an older version.

You are the expert. But I have experimented, and when I copy first
vmoose.xdd into my mint folder and then spin.xfs, /dev/moose is installed
correctly and I can start XaAES. If I do it the other way around, it
isn't,
and XaAES crashes, complaining that /dev/moose isn't found.
