I think it does.
Thing has worked with Mint from at least 1.12 up to some versions of 1.16 so why has it now been broken ? Unless Thing is doing something horrible to create dialogue boxes I can't see how it would break the AES.
Thing may rely on undocumented AES features, e.g. the order messages arrive or something like that. This could have been changed in XaAES the last two years or so.
When did 1.29 become available ?
I think I got it in 1999. It's a beta with some added features. I don't think it has ever been released to the public.
