BTW have none of you heard of "rollback", it is a function which is
present in most (good) web based apps nowadays, so hacking or
defacement should not be an issue either

I have a sneaky suspicion that no one here really understands what is
available nowadays, the security with which it is provided, and the
massive power boost that can be given to a project just by judicious
use of modern (web) technology, some of which is now around 10 years
old. The stuff we are talking about here should be able to be managed
from a phone..
I had a nice reply written but I don't want to start anymore arguments. Suffice to say we all have modern pc's and know what is available... The closed system is a choice that I suspect the majority is comfortable with specifically for the kernel roadmap.

Thanks,
