I have investigated Origyn. It is a really good option especially now
that webkit is going through size an speed enhancements, both will
increase its usability on low spec machines.

For the future of Atari Web Browsing, webkit holds the most promise.
FF is about to get a "kick in the pants" in the speed and size
department, but it is not known for its small foot print, or its
usability on mobile devices.

I believe that a custom Atari/m68k SDL replacement library hold the
key to any future SDL-ports.

SDL's speed issues are noticeable on even high spec wintel machines,
but it does make for the most portable source code possible, and
therefore can not be ignored.

Finally, userbase is irrelavent, standard compliance and speed of
development is relevant, but at the end of the day the app must be
usable on "our" platform. This is getting harder and harder to
maintain..

BTW Jo, your screen shot maybe font related, not necessarily render related
