[MiNT] How to use cross compiling on Ubuntu (dummy question)

Hi all,

I just set up an Ubuntu 12.04 32bit system and installed Vincents cross-mint-essentials as described (http://vincent.riviere.free.fr/soft/m68k-atari-mint/ubuntu.php). Great stuff!!!

Now I'm a bit confused how to use this environment. Especially I'm confused about how to tell GCC to build m68k-mint binaries and to use the mintlib, ... instead of it's usual Linux environment. I assume I need to set some environment variables like PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH to make sure make uses the cross compile environment.

I tried to follow the howtos from Parice (http://patrice.mandin.pagesperso-orange.fr/v3/en/patch-utils.html) and MiKRO (http://dhs.nu/misc.php?t=special&feature=gcc336). But their setup differs quite a lot since they both use separate directories to build the cross compiler stuff.

I'm trying (again) to compile lpd from the available sources (http://193.166.3.2/index/files/pub/atari/mint/lpd-590-mint.tar.gz).

Can you help?

King regards,
Heinz
