My next question is, what happens if you set vfat on a ext2 partition ?
What does mint do ? Does it cause any issues because ext2 is always
long filename ?
The only way I can think of auto-setting vfat would be to read 20-30
filenames at random and if any one is NOT 8+3 then it must be a
long filename partition.
In 2015 should mint default to long filename except where a parition
is set to 8+3 in mint.cnf ? A reverse of the current set-up.
Maybe mint should always set them as long filename and a small
app could be auto run by the desktop to set them as 8+3 ?
