Hello everybody,

It seems that you are all experts on MiNT so I hope you will not be offende
by my simple questions :)

As I am sure you already figured out, I am a brand new to this list.

I have had both my STE and my Falcon for several years but have never used
any OS other than TOS/GEM on either one. Well I have tried MiNT a long time
ago, but at the time I needed a multitasking version of GEM (MultiTOS came
later) and not a UNIX like OS. However I have recently discovered that I
would like to install MiNT on the 2Mb STE with a modest 50Mb hard-disk.

My questions are therefor the following:

1. Can I use the 2Mb machine or do I need more RAM/harddisk space? I am not
interested in using the Falcon for the moment as I use that computer for
other purposes.

2. Is it possible to use MiNT to create a UNIX like environment without GEM?
If so how?

3. TOS/GEM is limited to 8.3 filenames. Is it possible to expand that under
MiNT? If yes, how?

Well, that's it for now.
